Welcome to "KIDZ CITY"
We are excited that you have joined us in KIDZ CITY at Valencia Hills Community Church! It is our goal that your child would experience the love of Jesus Christ through our Sunday School program and those who serve each week in KIDZ CITY. It is our mission to supplement your family as you strive to lay down a spiritual foundation for your child. We do this by offering well structured and purposeful Sunday school curriculum, mid-week small groups for both parents and children and plenty of resources made available to assist you in your journey. KIDZ CITY Vision
In KIDZ CITY our vision is to develop a place where children would have so much fun learning about how awesome God is that they wouldn't want to miss a single week. We want to provide music that is so exciting that the children leave singing songs throughout the week and where creative teaching techniques are effectively used to teach our children how to live a Christian life at home, at school and in their neighborhoods.KIDZ CITY Goal
The goal of KIDZ CITY is to develop children into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This means that our kids grow to love God, are actively serving His purposes and are in the process of growing to honor God in all areas of their lives. At Valencia Hills Community Church we refer to this as "The Five G's":- Grace: We want kids to accept the gift of grace (salvation) and extend grace to others (evangelism). "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Romans 3:23-24) At VHCC, we offer our kids 101 class which was developed to teach kids exactly what it means to have Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
- Growth: We want kids to grow in knowledge of God and His purposes, grow in understanding of how God's purposes include a plan for each of them and grow in character-being transformed from the inside out by the love of Christ. This growth is based on Colossians 2:6-7: "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness". Our kids 201 class is designed especially for our kids to help them discover how to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
- Group: We want kids to experience friendships in community where they can know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served, celebrate and be celebrated. This is where kids learn the importance of "doing life" with a circle of friends. At VHCC we offer a mid-week AWANA program for children ages 3-6th grade. This is an awesome opportunity for your child to meet new friends and "GROW" in their understanding of Christ.
- Gifts: We want kids to explore how God has created them and how they can serve others with the talents they have. At VHCC we offer our Kids 301 class which is designed to help your child discover their unique shape and the gifts that God has given them.
- Good Stewardship: We want to develop hearts that recognize that all they have belongs to God and desire to use their resources and time for His purposes.
Gift Based Ministry
In "KIDZ CITY" we are building a gift-based ministry. This means that we are encouraging our staff and volunteers to serve in the areas where they feel like God can use them best. Placing our volunteers in their areas of giftedness is vitally important to maintaining a positive, effective ministry. Our curriculum is designed to maximize learning for children while funneling the energy of volunteers into the areas in which they have skills and passion.Since our staff and volunteers serve in their unique areas of giftedness, the children's ministry program becomes a team and we all have the opportunity to work together.
