Terri and I would like to personally invite you to experience for yourself the warmth and excitement of what God is doing at Valencia Hills Community Church. Come as you are, grab a hot cup of coffee and relax while you learn how to build a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
You know, setting up and tearing down a high school gymnasium every week and our new building project can make Valencia Hills a pretty hectic place. Our growing size and fast pace can have their benefits. We're big enough for you to blend in and investigate the truth claims of Jesus Christ anonymously, if you choose to. But if you stick around long enough you will realize that we try to reduce our size and pace by doing things in teams of smaller groups and slowing down to get to know one another as friends. In fact, anything that really gets accomplished around here that has any lasting impact for Christ and His Kingdom is done through a network of relationships that are formed by serving on a ministry team, or growing towards God in a "Small Group". We hope that you would choose to develop authentic and enduring relationships with others by joining one of the teams or ministries or small groups that are forming all the time.
At Valencia Hills we are trying to build a loving community that follows Christ in order to reach the community that is all around us, both locally and globally. We are trying to do that by becoming the kind of church that the Bible describes—a church with relevant teaching, God honoring worship, honest friendships, continual prayer, and a compassionate love for people who have serious needs.
We know that life can be tough and challenging. You are not going to hear easy answers to complex issues at Valencia Hills. We believe in an invisible God who sent His Son, a couple of thousand years ago, to a culture that none of us have experienced in a place that is on the other side of the planet. What is easy about any of that? On top of that he gave us instructions that he wants us to follow, but no one has ever followed them completely without fail. We know that this is not easy to translate or digest in our world. At Valencia Hills we are learning together what it really means to be a Christ-follower, even though that presents tremendous challenges to all of us.
We're a learning community where hopefully you'll find a lot of grace. So we hope that you choose to visit Valencia Hills, whether you are just starting to ask questions about God, or you are a committed Christ-follower, or you are some place in between. We hope that you will find Valencia Hills to be a place where you can grow in your journey towards God.
