Pastor’s Letter to
Valencia Hills Community Church

Dear VHCC Family,
2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind.”  In this time of great uncertainty, one thing remains immovable, God’s great love for us.  My prayer for you is that you would cling to the Lord of Life in such uncertain times and be refreshed by his unending mercy and grace.  And then, being refreshed, you would spring into action as ambassadors of love and reconciliation to those all around you.

In light of current mandates by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Heath and in consideration of our body of believers and community the leadership of Valencia Hills Community Church have decided to cancel all services, classes and ministries at the church building until March 31st.

But that doesn’t mean church is closed.  We will continue to engage in ministry as follows:

●    Every Sunday at 9 and 10:30 am we will be livestreaming our services and have them available to view on our website  We strongly suggest you treat worshiping over the internet the same way you would if you were here live and in person. Sing along with Paul as he sings. Pray with us when we pray. Open your Bibles and follow along as we are instructed from the word of God.  And don’t forget giving as an act of worship.  You can give online through our website:, drop off your tithes and gifts at our church office Monday through Thursdays 9am to 5pm, drop them through the mail slot in the front door after hours or on the weekends or mail them to the church office: 24933 Avenue Stanford, Valencia, CA 91355.

●    In the coming days we are going to formally announce a pathway to stay connected and participate in ongoing ministry through ZOOM video conferencing, Facebook videos, and other creative ways to encourage one another in Christ.

●    Starting Thursday, March 19, we will be putting out a daily video (Mondays-Thursdays) on our Valencia Hills Community Church Instagram and Facebook pages to keep you informed of what is going on at Valencia Hills Community Church and how you can stay connected.  Every Monday and Thursday we will send out a devotional from the Psalms by our pastoral team to encourage you via EMAIL and on our website:  Look under CONNECT—pastors blog.  (If you are not getting emails from our church and would like to please contact Angie Romero our administrative assistant: or call the church office at 661-775-1885)

●     If you need assistance of any kind – we are here for you!  Please contact us via Email –,,, or by phone                  661-775-1885 and we will immediately respond.  Whether you are just feeling lonely or need someone to give you spiritual care and advice or if you have a need for grocery’s or someone to run to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription we are here for you!

●    If you want to volunteer – we need you!  Please send an email to and we will put you on our volunteer list and contact you when opportunities to serve arise.

Church isn’t closed!  Although we might not be able to meet physically together, your pastoral and leadership teams are looking for and FINDING creative ways to stay connected with one another, serve one another, teach one another, pray for one another, care well for one another and continue this compelling journey of growth in Christ.
Please join me in praying:

1.  Lord, guard our church from fear and anxiety. Help us to trust that you are in control.

2.  Lord, provide relief for those suffering from the effects of the virus throughout the world. Be glorified in drawing people to You and Your Word during these days of sickness and fear.

3.  Lord, guard our church from disunity. Do not allow the evil one to tempt us toward bitterness, judgmentalism, or division in this trial.

4.  Lord, humble us with the reality of our weakness and frailty. Help us number our days in order to gain hearts of wisdom.

Scripture that reminds us of God’s goodness and care:
Psalm 23, 46, 91, 112, Isaiah 25-26, Matthew 14:22-36, Mark 4:35-41, Romans 8, 1 Peter 5:7

In Christ,
Pastor Dennis
