-Coronavirus Updates-

July 15,2020
Valencia Hills Community Church,

Our great hope is JESUS! Even though this pandemic rages around us, our hope is JESUS! To meet the new requirements made by Governor Newsom requiring churches to STOP in person gatherings, VHCC will return to an ONLINE presence only.
We will go back to our regular times of 9:00am and 10:30am for our live-streaming worship service. We are adding back an element of weekly touch point with Drive Through opportunities each week. This week’s Drive Thru will be from 10:30am-12:30pm and will be a donation opportunity to minister to one of our families: the Shickles. They have a newborn baby boy named Haddon, with several significant health challenges, and many surgeries ahead of him. He’ll be in the hospital for the next several months and we want to minister to their practical needs. More info on specific needs/items will be coming soon.
We are praying fervently for you. We know that gathering together is vital to our well-being in Christ – so we will be proposing creative solutions for meeting together in the days to come. Please check our website, www.valenciahills.com, to access our weekly calendar with online group opportunities, and connect with us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date with the latest information.
Please reach out to us by email, phone or text about your needs, your concerns and your availability to serve. Just because we have to be creative doesn’t mean we are closed. The church is not the building, it is each one of us enlivened by the Spirit of God by our faith in Jesus Christ to save us, who are the church – therefore the church can never close.

Please pray for our leaders to have wisdom as we search for Christ honoring solutions to this great opportunity to serve our Lord and Savior and this community for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

March 28, 2020

Open to CELEBRATE God’s goodness, grace and love

                                            in PERSON again!
We have exciting, wonderful news – VHCC will be reopening our building again for live, in person worship THIS SUNDAY, May 31!  Thank you for all the great feedback on our church survey that overwhelmingly showed us that you will be here when the doors open.  In compliance with State and County guidelines a plan has been crafted to allow in person worship to happen in our building that helps limit the risk to those in attendance and those serving.  (If you’d like to add your voice to the survey follow this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DQ5STBS or go to our website and click the button that says “SURVEY.”)

OUR PLAN – (Based on requirements set by L.A. County Department of Health)

●   To comply with the limit of 100 people in attendance we have decided to have three services starting at 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am, we expect them to be just short of an hour to allow 30 minutes between services for safe arrivals and exits and cleaning.  For the next few weeks, we will not have any mingling, greeting or social times before or after services.  (Live streaming of the service will continue.)

●   We strongly encourage anyone who is at risk or who may not be ready to attend in person to continue participating in our live stream services.  Live stream will coincide with our new starting times of 8 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am.

●   We ask anyone who has symptoms of a cold, flu, has a temperature above 100.4 Fahrenheit or who have been in contact with anyone who has symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19 to enjoy our services from the comfort of your own home via livestream and protect yourself and others by doing so.

●   Masks must be worn by all who attend (LA COUNTY and STATE REQUIREMENT).  Pastors and band members will not be required to wear masks while speaking or leading in worship.  Masks will be supplied at the door if you forgot yours.

●   Social distancing of 6 feet must be maintained at all times by persons not related or in the same household.  Please choose seating that will accommodate the social distancing requirement.

●   Please follow the directives to maintain one-way traffic in the building by entering through the children’s ministry door and exiting through the double glass doors in the lobby.  (If you require handicapped parking you may still enter and exit through the lobby doors).

●   We suggest frequent hand washing for 20 seconds or more with soap and water or the using of hand sanitizer.  Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.

●   For the time being there will be NO children’s ministry, nursery, greeting time, donuts or coffee, no bulletins or message maps (message map is available to see or download on our web-site) and water fountains will be turned off.  No other ministry will happen on our campus during the week other than our offices being open for pastors and staff.
●    Our building has been professionally deep cleaned, sanitized and disinfected.  During the 30 minutes between services we will clean and disinfect all common areas including the sanctuary, wiping down all hard surfaces, door handles and cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting restrooms.

If you have concerns that have not been addressed above or questions that we have not covered, please email David@valenciahills.com

We cannot tell you how much joy this message gives the pastors and staff to send to you,  and how much we look forward to seeing your cheerful smiling faces in the seats again.
In Christ,
Pastor Dennis
