Healing from Domestic Violence

This two-day intensive will teach a gospel-centered approach to support, care for, and empower individuals + families affected by emotional, verbal, physical, or mental abuse in romantic partnerships.

The event is designed for staff members and/or volunteers in church settings and non-profit organizations.
 

Cost: $35, including materials and refreshments

Will there be a lunch break?
Yes, you will be dismissed for lunch. Light refreshments only will be provided between sessions.

Who will be speaking?

- Tina M. Mosley, DSW, LMFT: Dr. Thomasina Mosley Sisay has twenty-six years of experience in child welfare and is passionate about preventing child abuse and neglect. Dr. Sisay is particularly interested in expanding the church's role in preventing child abuse. Her research focus is on the effects of mental illness on parenting.

 

- Martha Harding: Martha has a Masters degree in Applied Biblical Studies, and after many years as a homeschooling mom, she moved into full-time ministry. She enjoys writing Bible studies and teaching God’s word any time she can get the chance. Her passion is for women to know the Lord, to love His word, and to experience the joy of engaging with the family of God.

 

- Susan Watkins, MS, LMFT Psychotherapist: With compassion and understanding borne of her own journey toward the heart of God through debilitating life experiences, Susan Watkins brings a genuine sense of calling to her work as a psychotherapist. She passionately believes that moments of desperation can actually become doorways leading to deeper encounters with the living God.
